Leylek Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Leylek app for iOS and iPadOS and the getleylek.com website do with personal data. Leylek is developed by Ahmet Kaplan (İstanbul, Türkiye), referred to as "we" below.
In short
- You use Leylek without an account. Leylek has no server.
- Your trips, documents, lists, plans and expenses stay on your device. With iCloud sync on, they are also stored in your own iCloud account and reach only your devices.
- We don't see, collect, sell or share this data.
- The app contains no ads, analytics, crash reporting or third-party trackers.
- We only see your email address and message if you choose to email us.
Data kept on your device
- Trip details: destination, dates, travellers' names, trip style, notes and cover photo.
- Documents: the PDFs and images you add and the details you enter (flight, stay, ID, insurance).
- Your ID details: passport and ID numbers, expiry dates and visas.
- Packing lists, daily plans and the locations of planned places, expenses, budgets and exchange rates.
- Your preferences: appearance, reminders, your name, home currency and nationality.
Everything done with this data is computed on your device: reading details from a ticket or booking (Wallet passes, boarding pass barcodes, text recognition), packing suggestions, visa information (from a table bundled with the app), passport validity warnings, reminders, stamps and trip statistics. No file or detail leaves your device for any of these.
Document files are stored with iOS data protection and can't be read while the device is locked. Depending on your iOS settings, this data may be part of your device backup (iCloud Backup or a computer backup). Backups are controlled by Apple and by you; we have no access.
iCloud sync
When Settings › iCloud › "Sync with iCloud" is on (the default), the data above, including document files, is written through Apple's CloudKit service to the private database in your own iCloud account and synced across the iPhones and iPads signed in with the same Apple Account. Your name, home currency and nationality are synced through iCloud key-value storage.
- This data lives in your iCloud account and uses your iCloud storage. As the developer we have no access to this database.
- Passport and ID numbers, document details (such as booking codes and seats) and trip notes are end-to-end encrypted; the keys exist only on your devices.
- Other data and document files are encrypted by Apple in transit and at rest. With Advanced Data Protection for iCloud on, they are end-to-end encrypted too.
- You can turn sync off at any time; your data then stays on this device only. You can delete the iCloud copy in iOS Settings › your Apple Account › iCloud › Manage Account Storage › Leylek.
- Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy apply.
Widgets, postcards and sharing
- For widgets, your next trip's name and dates, your next flight and today's plan are written to the app group folder on your device, and the widget reads them from there. This file never leaves your device. Lock Screen widgets are visible while the device is locked; remove the widget if you'd rather not show them.
- Postcard and stamp images are made on your device. They are shared only if you tap Share and pick an app; that app's rules then apply. You can hide the dates on a postcard.
- Files you share to Leylek from other apps (the share extension) are placed in the app group folder on your device and added to your documents when you open the app.
Network requests
The app goes online only in these cases. These requests contain no names, documents or ID details, and no advertising or device identifier is sent. As with any internet request, the receiving service sees your device's IP address.

Those services' own privacy policies apply.
Permissions
- Camera: only when you scan a document.
- Photos: through the system picker; only the photo you pick is shared, never your whole library.
- Notifications: check-in, packing, hotel and passport reminders are scheduled on your device.
- Face ID / Touch ID: if you lock your documents; biometric data stays in Apple's Secure Enclave and never reaches the app.
- Calendar: adding a flight opens the iOS editor; the app never reads your calendar.
The app doesn't use your location, contacts or microphone.
Purchases
Leylek Pro is bought through Apple's App Store, and your payment details stay with Apple. The app only learns from Apple whether your subscription is active. The sales reports Apple gives developers don't identify you.
When you email us
If you email support@getleylek.com, directly or from Settings › Support › Email us, we receive your email address, your name (if your email shows it), your message and any attachments. The email the app prepares includes the app and iOS versions and nothing else.
- We use this only to reply, fix the problem you report and improve the app.
- Email to getleylek.com addresses is forwarded to our mailbox by Cloudflare's email routing service and stored with our email provider.
- We keep the conversation for a reasonable time after it's resolved, and delete it straight away if you ask.

The website uses no cookies, analytics or trackers, and loads no fonts or scripts from elsewhere. Your language and cover choice are kept only in your browser (local storage). The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes visitors' IP addresses and browser details as needed to serve the site and protect it from abuse. We don't see individual visitors, only aggregate traffic counts.
Deleting and exporting your data
- Settings › Data › "Delete all data" removes everything from your device; with iCloud sync on, it is also deleted from iCloud and your other synced devices.
- Deleting the app removes only the copy on that device; the iCloud copy and backups remain.
- With Pro, Settings › Data › Export gives you your data and documents as a zip file.
Children
The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, children included.
Your rights
The only personal data we hold is the email you send us. We process it on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; Article 5(2)(f) of Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law, KVKK). The data controller is Ahmet Kaplan, İstanbul, Türkiye. Our email providers' servers may be outside your country.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the KVKK in Türkiye), you can ask to access, correct or delete that data, restrict or object to its use, or receive a copy. Email support@getleylek.com from the address you wrote to us from; we reply free of charge within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority (in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Board).
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date on this page and announce significant changes in the app or its release notes.
